DODA, FEBRUARY 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan.

The meeting was attended by SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta; ADC Sudarshan Kumar; ACR Sunil Kumar Bhutyal and officers of line departments, besides President of the Seerat Committee, President of the Beopar Association, President of the Butcher Association and other concerned officers joining via virtual mode.

The review covered key aspects including supply of drinking water, uninterrupted power, security, traffic management, stray animal issues, cleanliness, availability of essential commodities, regulation of rates and market checking.

A detailed discussion ensued on the measures being taken by the concerned departments for adequate supply of potable water and Power supply. The concerned functionaries were asked to meet the gaps, if any, to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours.

The police department was asked to strengthen security arrangements to maintain law and order, while ARTO was instructed to ensure smooth traffic management. Special instructions were issued to Municipal Committees of Doda, Bhaderwah, and Thathri to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, especially around mosques and marketplaces. The CA&FCS department was asked to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-approved rates.

The DC emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to avoid inconvenience to the public. He urged all stakeholders to adopt a proactive approach to meet the public requirements during the holy month.

The SSP assured that adequate security measures would be implemented, with increased patrolling, surveillance, and regulation of traffic to avoid congestion near religious places and marketplaces.

The representatives of the trade and religious organisations gave suggestions regarding different issues of public importance.
