REASI, MARCH 31: District Panchayat Election Officer Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026 in the district.
Deputy District Election Officer Nitin Verma briefed the chair on the overall preparedness for the revision exercise and informed that necessary arrangements are being put in place at both district and block levels.
The District Panchayat Election Officer directed all Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to strictly adhere to the guidelines and ensure timely compliance with all directions. He instructed the officers to organize special camps every weekend to facilitate the public in submitting claims and objections. He further emphasized the importance of submitting daily progress reports for effective monitoring and prompt action.
Stressing the need for widespread awareness, the DPEO Reasi directed all concerned officers to undertake extensive publicity campaigns to inform the public about the revision process. He also instructed officers to organize special Gram Sabhas to enhance community participation and awareness.
Later, the District Panchayat Election Officer flagged off an IEC van to spread awareness among the public regarding the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026. The IEC van shall traverse different blocks and villages of the district to disseminate information about the revision process and educate citizens on procedures related to inclusion, deletion, correction and transposition in the Panchayat electoral rolls.
The District Administration has urged all eligible citizens to actively participate in the revision exercise and ensure that their details are correctly reflected in the electoral rolls.
