ANANTNAG, MAY 08: As part of an on-going initiative, the Drug Control Department Anantnag today conducted inspections across various retail establishments.

During the special drive, two dedicated teams visited 49 pharmacies including Anchudura, Aung, Nanil, Kandalwan, Hakura Doru, Kokernag, Hiller, Sagam, and surrounding areas of the Anantnag District to verify the installation of CCTV cameras and Computerized Billing System.
While all inspected firms had CCTV cameras installed, two establishments were closed on spot for violating provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

The teams additionally underscored the significance of monitoring CCTV footage to verify that the cameras effectively serve their intended function of deterring improper practices.

These efforts aim to achieve a satisfactory level of compliance concerning CCTV camera installation and the adoption of Computerized Billing Systems (CBS) within pharmacies. Implementing these measures will foster transparency in transactions, strengthen inventory management, and promote overall accountability within the district’s pharmaceutical sector.
