DODA, MAY 05: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an impactful IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) campaign was organized here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society. Koshal Sharma, a representative from the Youth Services & Sports Department, delivered a powerful and heartfelt speech, urging students to stay away from drugs and become ambassadors of change in their communities.

Mr. Sharma highlighted the devastating impact of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society at large. He encouraged students to take an oath to live a healthy and drug-free life, stressing that the youth are the backbone of the nation and their well-being is essential for a prosperous future. The campaign aimed not only at spreading awareness but also at fostering resilience and positive mental health among young minds through education and collective commitment.

The event was held under the overall supervision of Principal Surinder Singh Baloria, who emphasized the role of educational institutions in shaping responsible citizens. The program was efficiently anchored by Miss Sumaiya, who kept the audience engaged and motivated throughout the session. The campaign also featured interactive discussions on the psychological, social, and economic consequences of drug abuse, encouraging students to become peer leaders in this noble cause.

Among the notable attendees were Shahista Kouser from the Education Department, representatives from the Health and Social Welfare Departments, DUDA Self Help Group members, and faculty members including lecturers Shahid Bashir and Imran Tantray. Their presence highlighted the collaborative approach needed to fight drug abuse through awareness, prevention, and community participation. The event concluded with students taking a solemn pledge to stay drug-free and spread awareness within their families and neighborhoods, reinforcing the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
