REASI, MAY 05: A comprehensive training program was conducted for field functionaries today in the DC Office Conference Hall ahead of the household survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban 2.0.

The initiative aims to identify eligible households to provide them with pucca houses and basic amenities, aligning with the mission of “Housing for All” in urban areas.

The training session was attended by Nodal Officer PMAY-U (Additional District Development Commissioner -ADDC) Sukhdev Singh Samyal; District Statistics & Evaluation Officer (DSEO) Ashok Kumar and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Katra. The Master Trainers from the Education Department imparted training to the supervisors and surveyors deployed for the survey.

The training focused on equipping participants with the necessary skills to conduct the survey efficiently, ensuring accurate data collection through the PMAY Urban 2.0 framework. Topics covered included the use of the survey mobile application, adherence to modified eligibility criteria, and methodologies for identifying houseless households in urban areas of Reasi. The session emphasized the importance of transparency, timeliness, and community engagement to achieve 100% saturation of the scheme.

ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal underscored the significance of the survey in transforming the lives of houseless families by providing them with dignified housing. He urged the surveyors to adopt best practices and work diligently to ensure no eligible household is left out. DSEO Sh. Ashok Kumar highlighted the role of inter-departmental coordination in streamlining the process, while the Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Katra stressed the need for localized strategies to address the unique challenges of urban areas like Katra.

The master trainers from the Education Department played a pivotal role in guiding the supervisors and surveyors, providing hands-on training on data entry, verification processes, and resolving field-level challenges. The surveyors were encouraged to conduct door-to-door visits and engage with local communities to ensure comprehensive coverage.

This training marks a significant step towards the successful implementation of PMAY Urban 2.0 in Reasi, contributing to the national goal of providing affordable housing to all eligible urban households by 2029. The district administration remains committed to monitoring progress and ensuring the survey’s outcomes translate into tangible benefits for the houseless population.
