DODA, FEBRUARY 20: The Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens organized a one-day Kissan Goshti (interactive meet) here at Trown Panchayat in Block Bhalla.

The event aimed to educate farmers on commercial floriculture practices and address challenges in cultivating aromatic crops.

Assistant Floriculture Officer for Pawan Kumar led the discussions on commercial floriculture activities in the district. He provided insights into the cultivation of aromatic crops such as lavender and rosemary, emphasizing their economic potential.

Farmers shared experiences and challenges related to marigold and lavender cultivation, seeking guidance on best practices.

Prominent progressive growers, including Bharat Bhushan and Kunj Lal, attended the meet and praised the department’s ongoing support. Former Sarpanch of Trown Panchayat, Riyaz Ahmed, commended the department for organizing awareness programs that aim to uplift the socio-economic status of the farming community.

The event underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the Floriculture Department and local farmers to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance income through commercial floriculture.
