Free health screening camp organized for senior citizens at Thathri

THATHRI, AUGUST 11: A free medical checkup cum health awareness camp was today organized for senior citizens here at Dak Bunglow Thathri.

A joint initiative of the Social Welfare Department and local Community Health Centre (CHC), the camp aimed at providing quality healthcare services to the elderly population.

A dedicated medical team from CHC, headed by BMO Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo, engaged with the elderly persons and conducted general health check-up, haemoglobin (Hb) testing, screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including hypertension and diabetes, TB screening and health counselling. The beneficiaries were also provided free medicines as per their requirement.

The medical team also sensitized the beneficiaries about the importance of regular health check-ups, eating balanced diet, adopting healthy lifestyle practices, medication adherence and timely detection and management of chronic diseases.

The TSWO appreciated the Health Department and the medical team for their support in organising the camp and providing quality healthcare services to senior citizens. He emphasised the importance of continued coordination between the Health and Social Welfare Departments to ensure that elderly beneficiaries have access to essential healthcare services.
