BASOHLI, MAY 06: In continuation to the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Government Degree College Basohli, in collaboration with the Police Department, today organised Unity March to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs, particularly among the youth.
The event was organised under the patronage of the Principal Prof. Raj Kiran Sharma. The event started with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan pledge. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to stay away from drugs and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Later, the College Principal flagged off the rally from the college premises. Drawing significant public attention, the rally passed through the main Plahi area to Diara, culminating back on the college campus. SDPO Om Parkash Lalhal, along with his team members also joined the students.
Carrying banners and raising slogans “Say No to Drugs & Yes to Life,” “Nasha Chodo, Jeevan se Nata Jodo”,
“Nashe ko Bhagana hai, Desh ko Bachana Hai”, the participants actively engaged with the local community across the Plahi area, encouraging collective responsibility in combating substance abuse.
The Principal appreciated the active involvement of police, students and local participants. She highlighted the importance of continuous efforts through education, awareness and community participation to eliminate the menace of drug abuse. However, substance abuse poses a serious threat to this demographic dividend.
Therefore, such awareness initiatives are vital steps towards achieving the vision of a drug-free India.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment towards building a drug-free society and ensuring the success of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. About 100 students have participated in the rally.
