DODA, DECEMBER 19: Government Degree College (GDC) Doda today organised an awareness rally under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to educate the masses, particularly the youth about the ill effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free society.

The rally began from College Campus and passed through Nagri Market, Bharat Road, Bus Stand, Ghanta Ghar Chowk and Dessa Road, culminating at the Sports Stadium.

A large number of students participated enthusiastically, carrying placards and banners to spread the message of a healthy and addiction-free lifestyle.

The event witnessed active participation of officers from the civil and police administration, Heads of Educational Institutions, Senior citizens, local residents, faculty members and students.

A pledge ceremony was organised at Sports Stadium, where all participants vowed to stay away from drugs and to contribute towards creating awareness in society.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anil Kumar Thakur highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and emphasised the pivotal role of youth in eradicating drug abuse. He urged students to act as change-makers and spread awareness within their families and communities.

The College Principal Dr. Javid Iqbal also addressed the gathering and highlighted the role of educational institutions in shaping responsible citizens, while reiterating the college commitment to promoting the ideals of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The programme concluded with a renewed pledge and a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively to achieve the goal of a Drug-Free India.
