REASI, FEBRUARY 20: Government Degree College Kakryal, Katra, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, NSS (National Service Scheme) and NCORD successfully organized a Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition to promote awareness among students about social issues such as drug abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS awareness and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event was organised under the able guidance of the principal, Dr. Rajni Bhagat.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various semesters. The event aimed to create awareness about drug abuse prevention, promote HIV/AIDS awareness, encourage social responsibility among youth, foster creativity and expression through art and words. Students expressed their ideas creatively through vibrant posters depicting the harmful effects of drug addiction, the importance of saying “No to Drugs”, awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and messages promoting health, discipline and positivity.
A panel of respected faculty members including Dr. Sajad and Prof. Shikha Bhasin evaluated the entries based on: creativity, relevance to theme, clarity of message and presentation and originality. Riya and Aisha from sem VI bagged Ist position in poster making competition and Shivani from Sem VI secured first position in slogan writing competition. The event was coordinated by NSS PO, Dr. Usha Sharma. The Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition proved to be a meaningful initiative that not only enhanced students’ creative skills but also strengthened their awareness and responsibility toward societal issues. The collaborative effort of Red Ribbon Club, NSS and NCORD made the event informative, engaging and impactful.
