DODA, OCTOBER 31: Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The celebration aimed to instill in students the values of unity, integrity and national pride, reaffirming the importance of standing together for a strong and harmonious nation.
The event was held under the guidance and patronage of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the college, who inspired the students to emulate the ideals of Sardar Patel by upholding honesty, dedication and unity in both personal and professional life.
The highlight of the programme was an insightful keynote lecture delivered by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, who spoke in depth about the life and vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He elaborated on Patel’s historic role in uniting more than 500 princely states into the Indian Union and his tireless efforts in shaping the foundation of modern India. Dr. Kotwal emphasized that Patel’s leadership, courage and diplomatic acumen continue to serve as guiding principles for today’s generation in building a self-reliant and united nation.
Students of the college actively participated in the event, showcasing their understanding and admiration for Sardar Patel through inspiring speeches and presentations. They highlighted his contribution to national integration and his firm belief in the principle of “Unity in Diversity.” Their participation reflected a deep sense of national pride and responsibility toward preserving the unity and integrity of the nation.
The celebration also featured the Rashtriya Ekta Pledge in which faculty members and students solemnly reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the spirit of brotherhood, integrity, and unity. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Anupam Lata, while the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sat Pal. The event concluded with a collective resolve to follow the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in creating a stronger and more united India.
