RAMBAN, MARCH 04: In a proactive step towards fostering civic responsibility regarding the electoral process among its students, Government Degree College Ramban organised a series of innovative activities under the banner of ‘Mera Pehla Vote, Desh ke Liye’ campaign.
Under the guidance of District Election Officer, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary these initiatives aimed at instilling the importance of electoral participation among the youth.
As part of this endeavor, the NSS volunteers and students of GDC Ramban initiated a commendable effort by establishing a designated ‘Selfie Point’ within the college premises. Adorned with vibrant paintings and impactful taglines such as ‘Mera Pahela Vote Desh ka Liya’ and ‘Chunav ka Parv Desh ka Gaurav,’ the place serves as a visual reminder of the power and responsibility vested in the act of voting.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty and staff members, many of whom were first-time voters.
Through the act of capturing selfies at the designated point, participants not only celebrated their newfound role as active citizens but also propagated awareness about the significance of electoral engagement among their peers.
This initiative, conceptualized by Prof. Ram Parkash and executed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, NSS Program Officer, under the mentorship of Prof. Satish Kumar, Principal in charge of the college, underscores the institution’s unwavering commitment to nurturing democratic values and promoting civic engagement among the youth.
It highlights the pivotal role educational institutions play in shaping responsible citizens and strengthening the democratic fabric of our nation.
