GDC Ramkote organises maiden Alumni Meet (Malati -1), Investiture Ceremony

KATHUA, OCTOBER 14: Government Degree College Ramkote organized its maiden Alumni Meet (Malati-1), for newly inducted Semester 1st students and maiden Investiture Ceremony (selection of college presidium/student council) today. The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chief Guest MLA Billawar Satish Sharma in presence of local prominent citizens, followed by Saraswati Vandana by students of Semester 3rd and 1st.

The welcome address was delivered by Minakshi Devi from semester 5th to welcome all participants of the event.
Principal of the College Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul presented a report on the academic, sports, infrastructure development and other activities of the college. He said that the college is aiming to have its own building to provide best infrastructural facilities to the students.

The tone was set with a scintillating cultural programme featuring Dogri folk dance by semester 5th girls, solo song by Karan Singh of semester 1st and bhajan singing performance by Tania Devi of semester 3rd.

The Alumni, who attended the function were felicitated by the Chief Guest and the Principal.
Anu Devi was selected as president of Alumni Association, while Lovely Thakur, alumni from the batch of 2022 expressed her feelings to be a part of this meet.

The college presidium was announced and Minakshi Devi from semester 5th was declared the President of student council. The torch was lit by the Chief Guest and handed over to the college president.

The whole presidium took a circled walk through the campus taking the responsibility of the role assigned.
Karan Singh and Bhawani Gupta from semester 1st were declared as the winners of the titles of Mr. and Ms. Fresher. They were selected on the basis of their introduction, personality, question and answers and performance of an activity. Kajal Devi from semester 3rd performed a Pahari dance folk dance followed by a Gidda performance by semester 3rd students.

The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of organizers and all participants for a joint venture of Alumni Meet, Diksharambh and Investiture Ceremony. He assured that the pending college building work shall be initiated soon for the overall growth and development of the institution.
