SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 4: Amid ongoing heavy rains in Samba district, the 13 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) requested the Health Department to conduct a health awareness camp at their Border Outposts (BOPs) located at Ramgarh block.
The camp was organized with the aim of preventing water-borne and vector-borne diseases, which tend to surge during the monsoon season. A vector born diseases control team from the Health Department samba participated in the initiative, distributing chlorine tablets to ensure safe drinking water for BSF personnel and nearby residents.
During the camp, health officials educated attendees on the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, using mosquito nets, and adopting preventive measures to reduce the risk of diseases such as malaria, dengue and cholera. Indoor and outdoor spraying was also carried out to control mosquito populations in and around the BOPs.
In total, five BOPs were covered during the drive today — BOP SP 2, BOP Narendar, BOP Kandral, BOP Suresh (Nanga) and BOP Majara.
