THATHRI, AUGUST 06: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Health Department today organized an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) awareness programme at Government Girls Hr Sec School Thathri.
The awareness session was conducted by Adolescent Health Counsellors Jonson Chandail, Pinku Sharma and Pooja Sharma. They educated students about the ill effects of substance abuse and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle
The programme was attended by Tehsildar Satish Rana, officials from the Municipal Committee and the Health Department.
The speakers highlighted the harmful consequences of drug abuse, tobacco, alcohol and other addictive substances on physical, mental and social well-being. Students were encouraged to resist peer pressure, make informed and healthy choices and actively contribute towards the vision of a drug-free India.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who pledged to spread awareness among their families and communities.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to stay away from drugs and support the Government’s mission of building a healthy, addiction-free society.
