HS Vijipara organises ‘Maa Se Guft-a-Gu’ Programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

BANDIPORA, JULY 14: Government Secondary School Vijipara on Tuesday organised the “Maa Se Guft-a-Gu” programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to raise awareness about the growing threat of drug abuse and reinforce the crucial role of mothers and families in preventing substance addiction among children.

The programme was attended by Dr. Asima Hassan, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Bandipora, as the chief guest. Also present were the Headmaster of HS Vijipara, staff members, Sanjeeda Hashmi, CDPO, ICDS Project Sumbal-Hajin, officials of the ICDS Department, mothers, and a large number of students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asima Hassan expressed concern over the increasing incidence of drug addiction among youth and urged parents, particularly mothers, to maintain open communication with their children and closely monitor their emotional well-being and behaviour.

On the occasion, Sanjeeda Hashmi highlighted the need for coordinated efforts by families, schools, and government agencies to protect the younger generation from the dangers of substance abuse.

The Headmaster, Faculty members also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of awareness, early intervention, and collective responsibility in combating drug addiction and building a healthy, drug-free society.

The programme concluded with all participants taking a pledge to work together towards the vision of a Drug-Free India under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
