Hyderabad, Aug 28: Ahead of the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, City Police Commissioner CV Anand on Monday held an extensive meeting involving officers of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) rank and above to deliberate on preparatory measures.
The discussions revolved around various facets such as vulnerability mapping, identification of critical polling stations, collaborative inspections, deployment strategies for specialized forces including strike units and flying squads, as well as personalised visits to polling stations by ACPs and Station House Officers (SHOs), especially for those who are relatively new to their roles.
A central component of the meeting was an in-depth review of cases related to the elections. The importance of proactively addressing potential disruptors and anti-social elements through robust measures was emphasised. Furthermore, there was strategic deliberation regarding compiling a list of individuals involved in election-related offences in previous elections.
Senior officials urged all Police Nodal officers to familiarise themselves with their designated areas and maintain effective coordination with fellow officers. DCPs were assigned the responsibility of identifying suitable accommodations for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and other external forces.
Greater emphasis on enforcement activities, including seizures, logistics management, force deployment, and other pertinent issues, were among the topics addressed during the meeting, a police media release said.
