I will fight rigorously for welfare of poor and downtrodden of Bandipora: Usman Majid

Former Minister and MLA Usman Majid here on Saturday intensified his election campaign across the Bandipora constituency. Majid addressed a series of meetings in various areas, including Ashtingoo, Arin, Dardpora, Ward No. 6, Kemah, Watapora, Malangam, Sumlar, Chuntimulla, Putushay, and other upper reaches. During these meetings, dozens of political workers from the Congress Party joined forces with Usman Majid.

In his address, Majid reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and upliftment of Bandipora’s poor, downtrodden, and marginalized communities. He emphasized that throughout his political career, he has focused on addressing the pressing issues affecting the most vulnerable in our community—those who have often been left behind in the development process.

Welcoming dozens of workers from Watapora into his campaign, Majid expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am humbled by their trust and support. I assure you all, I will never let you down. The message is clear—we are on the path to a decisive victory!”

Majid urged his supporters, workers and new entrants to engage in a vigorous door-to-door campaign to educate voters about the significance of this election. He said that, “Our mission and vision are resonating with every household in Bandipora, and the winds of change are sweeping through. Bandipora will rise to new heights of prosperity, leaving behind those who offered nothing but empty rhetoric. The tide has turned, and our opponents won’t be able to stand against this wave of change.”

He further emphasized that, “I firmly believe that every individual in my constituency, regardless of their socio-economic status, deserves equal opportunities and the chance to live a life of dignity. I have always stood by the principles of inclusive development, and my record speaks for itself. Whether it was fighting for better healthcare facilities, improved educational access, or generating employment through skill development initiatives, I have remained committed to ensuring that the voices of the underprivileged are heard and their needs addressed.”

Majid pledged to continue advocating for the implementation of welfare schemes that directly benefit the poor and downtrodden in Bandipora. This includes pushing for the expansion of social safety nets, targeted economic assistance, and infrastructure development that can transform the lives of those in need.

“I appeal to all stakeholders—civil society and the people of Bandipora—to join hands in this effort and support me in this election. Together, we can create a future where the most vulnerable are no longer left behind but are empowered to contribute to the progress of our community. My resolve to fight for the rights and welfare of the poor remains stronger than ever, and I will not rest until every citizen of Bandipora can share in the fruits of development with dignity and pride,” he added.

Majid reiterated his deep commitment to fighting for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden in Bandipora. He said that, “My lifelong mission has been to uplift those who have been neglected and overlooked. The challenges faced by the underprivileged in Bandipora are real, and I pledge to continue advocating for policies and programs that bring tangible benefits to their lives. Together, we can ensure that every citizen, regardless of their background, has access to opportunities, dignity, and a brighter future, he added.

Reflecting on the past, Majid said, “Before 2002, Bandipora was a town enveloped in darkness, grappling with neglect and underdevelopment. However, after I became the MLA, Bandipora began its transformative journey. Under my leadership, both as MLA and later as Planning Minister, Bandipora reached new heights of development. Roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other vital infrastructure projects were initiated and completed, bringing unprecedented progress to the town. Today, Bandipora stands tall, having touched the skies in terms of growth and opportunity.”

Majid added, “The economic landscape has been revitalized, with new avenues opening for the people, turning Bandipora into a beacon of progress in our region. My commitment remains strong—I am determined to continue this journey, ensuring that Bandipora soars even higher and achieves its fullest potential.”

During the Campaign trail, Majid welcomed former Deputy Sarpanch Mian Rafaqat Jamali from Dardpora into his fold, further strengthening his base in the Bandipora constituency. Majid Welcomed Mian into his caravan says that, His decision is a testament to the trust and confidence he places in my leadership and our vision for a brighter future.

Meanwhile, DDC Firdousa Akhter convened a working meeting in Bapora and Dardpora areas of the Bandipora constituency. She warmly welcomed a large group of workers from Bapora who have joined her fold from the Congress Party. She remarked, “The decision of the new entrants to join us reflects their unwavering faith in the leadership and vision of Usman Majid.”
