In a first, J&K set to host 4 National School Games

UT witnesses unprecedented growth in sports, 200 more playfields have come up: Secy YSS Sarmad Hafeez

Srinagar, Oct 30: In a first of its kind, Jammu and Kashmir is all set to host four National School Games in which 5000 sportspersons from 35 States and Union Territories are participating, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Sarmad Hafeez said on Monday.

While talking to media persons in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Hafeez as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that two out of four National School Games including Volleyball and Football are being inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha tomorrow.

He added that there has been unprecedented growth in sports everywhere in Jammu & Kashmir, adding that a total of 200 new playfields have come up in the Union Territory at different places.

“It is not only the Youth Services & Sports, who have come up with the playfields, but it is the work of different government departments,” he said—(KNO)
