IRCS J&K organises medical checkup camp at various locations

JAMMU, JULY 16: In a commendable effort to extend healthcare services to the underprivileged, the Indian Red Cross Society, J&K organized a Medical Check-up camp in a Mobile Testing Van at Balgran, Channi Rama, Jammu for the destitute children.

This initiative underscores the society’s commitment to promoting health and well-being among the most vulnerable sections of society.

The camp was organized for two days by the team Red Cross including Dr. Kavita Nijhon, Medical Officer, Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, Mushtaq Ahmed, Sup. Lab Technician, Kuldeep Bhat, Sr. Ophthalmologist Technician and Vironica Marwah, Field Officer conducting thorough medical examinations for the children.

The check-up included general health assessments, vision tests, Blood Grouping and nutritional evaluations.
Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS, J&K emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Regular medical check-ups are crucial for the early detection and prevention of health problems, especially in children who may not have regular access to healthcare facilities.

V.K. Raina, President SOS Home Balgran, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Red Cross Society for their generous support and dedication to the welfare of the children.

To enhance safety and preparedness, the IRCS J&K also organized a First- Aid Awareness program at Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, Samba.

The event, aimed at equipping the faculty with essential first aid skills, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff.

Teachers were given hands-on training through practical demonstrations.
Anita Bhatia, Principal Rich Harvest School, expressed her gratitude towards IRCS, J&K for organizing the event.
