Srinagar: J&K government Wednesday started the first vaccination drive for children between the age group of 12-14 years.
Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather kick-started the vaccination drive at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rajbagh Srinagar
While talking to media, Rather said that it is another special day for Kashmir as vaccination has been started for children between 12-14 years of age across India.
“3.36 lakh children will be vaccinated in J&K and a plan has been already devised to vaccinate children at even sub centres. Our aim is to complete their vaccination at an earliest,” Rather said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He said that the administration was fully prepared to tackle any eventuality and everyone is aware about how well J&K administration has dealt the second and third wave.
“There is no hesitancy and doubts about vaccines now and children are coming forward without any fear to get vaccinated,” he said, adding that Corbevax vaccine is being administered to the kids and after 28 days they can get the second dose.
The vaccination drive in J&K was started on January 16 last year and first health care workers were covered followed by front line workers, then above 60 age, then above 45 year age group followed by above 18 years age group and then above 15 and now for children between 12- 14 years of age—(KNO)
