J&K Startup Policy: JKEDI holds series of EAPs at Pulwama, Srinagar, Ganderbal & Poonch

SRINAGAR, JUNE 10: As part of the mass awareness initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Monday organized a series of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs) under J&K Startup Policy.

The programs were conducted for the students of Government Degree College (women), Pulwama, Vishwa Bharti Women’s College, Rainawari, Department of Tribal Affairs Poonch and Government Physical Education College, Ganderbal.

The programs were held in collaboration with these institutions and aimed to promote the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 and give a boost to the overall entrepreneurship ecosystem by inculcating the entrepreneurial mindset among youth.

Through this program, we intend to help young minds overcome the challenges of launching a business venture, said Raiyees Manzoor, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Pulwama while giving an overview of how to start a new business.

The program was attended by the students of these colleges who intend to take entrepreneurship as their career once they pass out of their respective colleges.

Faculty members from JKEDI Pulwama, Waseem Afzal Naik and Arbin Hassan, coordinated the program. Faculty of the Government Degree College for women (Pulwama), Aijaz Ashraf (Moderator), Dr Tanvir Bilal and Dr Zaffar were also present on the occasion. Faculty JKEDI, Srinagar, Aejaz Mulla, Syed Miftah, Iqbal Ali, faculty JKEDI Poonch, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohsin Hamid, Rashid Mehmood and faculty JKEDI Ganderbal, Sheikh Nowsheen and Muhammad Rafiq conducted the EAPs in their respective districts.

J&K Startup Policy is expected to focus on setting up of 2000 startups by 2027. The new policy provides for providing entrepreneurship facilities to students, women and support to the entrepreneurs through government, private and high net worth individuals (HNIs) for setting up start-ups.
