JKEDI, Govt Polytechnic College Jammu sign MoU

JAMMU, JUNE 14: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Government Polytechnic College Bikram Chowk, Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to work together and help the students enhance their skills and knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, innovation and startups.

The MoU was signed in a formal ceremony held at JKEDI, Baribrahmana campus and attended by key officials from both the institutions. The signatories were Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director JKEDI and Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic College, Jammu in presence of Er. Jasdeep Kour, HOD Instrumentation and Control Department, Er. Ajay Thapa, OIC TP Cell Government Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Sanam Gupta, Lecturer Grade-1 Mechanical Engineering Department, Er. Amit Kapoor Workshop Instructor Government Polytechnic, Jammu, Zahid Ali Dar, I/c CIIBM, JKEDI and Sorab Mengi, Assistant Manager, F&A, JKEDI.

The purpose of the MoU between the two institutions is to work together for Curriculum Design, by way of providing valuable inputs in teaching / training methodology and suitably customize the curriculum so that the students fit in the entrepreneurial scenario meaningfully, followed by industrial training and visits, Internship for the students, Research and Development, skill development programs and guest lectures.

Speaking on the occasion, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma said, “JKEDI shall extend support for internships to students of the Government Polytechnic College, Jammu based on recommendations through proper channels subject to suitable positions and criteria fulfilment.

Principal, Government Polytechnic College, Jammu, said that this partnership is a significant stride to help the student community benefit by enhancing their skills and knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, innovation and startups. He further informed that Government Polytechnic Jammu has established a Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) to impart training in latest trends of Manufacturing Technology, Automobile Engineering conforming to Industry 4.0 with the help of Tata Technologies Ltd Pune.

This MoU is aimed at offering the students enhanced opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills and contribute to the region’s economic growth. Both institutions will collaborate on faculty development programs, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance teaching methodologies and subject expertise.
