Kashmir’s youth embrace peace, reject separatism: Dr Varinder Sharma
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

JAMMU, Mar 23: Dr. Varinder Sharma, Co-convenor Professional Cell Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), hails the public renouncement of separatism by the relatives of prominent separatist leaders in Kashmir as a significant shift towards peace and prosperity. Highlighting the declarations of loyalty to the Indian constitution and sovereignty by individuals such as Sama Shabir and Ruwa Shah, Dr. Sharma underscored the message they convey to Kashmiri youth about the irrelevance of separatist ideologies in India’s thriving democracy.

He credited the abrogation of Article 370 for empowering Kashmiri youth to pursue diverse opportunities, from sports to entrepreneurship, without fear of intimidation. Dr. Sharma emphasizes the dwindling influence of militancy and the emergence of a new era where ordinary citizens can shape their destiny without coercion. He commended Sama and Ruwa as symbols of a transformed mindset and championed their affirmation of allegiance to India as a promising sign for the region’s future.

Dr. Sharma emphasized that the stance taken by Sama Shabir and Ruwa Shah is not just symbolic but also practical, as it reflects the aspirations of many young Kashmiris who seek a future free from conflict and instability. Their rejection of separatism signifies a broader shift in societal attitudes, where the focus is shifting towards constructive engagement and nation-building rather than divisive ideologies.

Furthermore, Dr. Sharma underscored the role of the union government in creating an environment conducive to this transformation. He acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration in providing opportunities and security for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive future. With the commitment of both the union government and state administration, the youth are embracing peace and progress. Kashmir stands poised to realize its full potential as an integral part of India’s democratic fabric, he added.
