Kulgam: A Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant has been killed while an army soldier and two civilians were injured in the ongoing encounter in Batapora village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said on Monday, adding that the operation was underway.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the encounter broke out in Batapora village this evening.

He said that in the ensuing encounter an army soldier and two civilians were injured and they have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police in a tweet informed that one JeM militant has been killed and his identification is being ascertained.

“#KulgamEncounterUpdate: 01 #terrorist of proscribed #terror outfit JeM killed. Identification of the killed terrorist being ascertained. #Search going on. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir zone police tweeted.

Earlier, police said that an Army soldier and two civilians were injured in the ongoing encounter, who have been injured and shifted to hospital for treatment.

“#KulgamEncounterUpdate: 01 Army soldier & 02 civilians got injured in the ongoing #encounter. All the 03 injured shifted to hospital for treatment. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted—(KNO)
