POONCH, SEPTEMBER 15: A team of the Labour Department conducted a series of inspections in Poonch District to enforce the adherence to the provisions of the Labour Act.
On the directions of the Labour Commissioner, a team from the Labour Department, comprising the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Labour Inspector and other officials conducted through inspections at Surankote, Lassana and the main town Poonch.
During the drive, five prosecutions were launched against violators of labour laws. The team also undertook an extensive awareness campaign, sensitizing employers and workers about their rights and responsibilities under different labour Act provisions and the welfare schemes.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner stated that the department is committed to ensuring strict enforcement of labour laws while simultaneously educating stakeholders about compliance and welfare measures.
