Srinagar: The administration on Friday said that the land being retrieved from the clutches of illegal occupants belongs to the people and will only be utilized for the people living here.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the there should be no confusion and threat among the people as the government has made it clear that the poor and landless will not be touched in the anti-encroachment drive.

“It stands the duty of the government to prevent encroachment and protect the state land and we will do our work in this regard,” he said, adding that at present they are consolidating their positions in this regard.

“There is no need to panic as the land being retrieved belongs to the local people and will be used for them only, for which the work is going on,” he added.

He also stated that sports is the only way to engage the youth and channelize their energy. Several steps have been taken including the establishment of youth clubs. The media should also give hype to the sports,” he said.

The Div Com also added thatthe work at several places at present is going on and would be completed at appropriate time—(KNO)
