RAJOURI, OCTOBER 15: The Law and Enforcement Wing of the Department of Agriculture today carried out a rigorous drive across Sub-Division Rajouri and in the main Town to check the quality of agricultural inputs including seeds, fertilizers etc. The drive was conducted on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and under the leadership of Chief Agriculture Officer Rajesh Verma.
A team of officers and officials, consisting of Ajay Sharma (District SMS), Tejinder Kumar (District SMS), Chander Mohan Sharma (Law Enforcement Officer, Rajouri) and other officials of the Law Enforcement Wing, participated in the extensive inspection exercise.
The primary objective of the drive was to ensure strict implementation of the Seed Act, 1955, Insecticides Act, 1968 and Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985.
During the inspection, two seed samples were lifted for laboratory testing, and one show-cause notice was issued to a violator, directing him to explain his position within seven days. All relevant records, including licenses, bills, voucher books, stock and sale registers and fertilizer sales through POS machines were thoroughly scrutinized to verify compliance with the prescribed norms.
The violators were cautioned against any future lapses and were warned of stringent action in case of further violations.
The Law Enforcement Wing reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency and ensuring that only quality agricultural inputs reach the farmers, thereby protecting their livelihoods and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the district.
