The awareness initiative was organised by the Zonal Leprosy Office, Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, with the objective of educating the public, especially school children, about early detection, prevention and treatment of leprosy and to remove stigma associated with the disease.

The Nukkad Natak presented by the Cultural Unit artists effectively conveyed messages on recognizing symptoms, the availability of free treatment and the importance of timely medical intervention. The engaging performance drew the attention of students and staff, helping reinforce awareness through a strong social message.

The programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Zonal Leprosy Officer, Dr. Sushma Mattoo, Block Medical Officer Sohanjana, Dr. Vijay Sharma and Medical Officer Leprosy, Dr. Deepika Dewan, who collectively highlighted the commitment of the health authorities towards eliminating leprosy and promoting a stigma-free society. The entire programme was conducted under the direction of Joint Director Information, Deepak Dubey and the supervision of Cultural Officer, Mohit Sharma.
