UDHAMPUR, MARCH 14: The 1st National Lok Adalat of 2026 was held today in district Udhampur under the chairmanship of Kalpana Revo, Principal District & Sessions Judge/Chairman DLSA Udhampur and Sumati Sharma, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA Udhampur.
The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Kalpana Revo and Yash Paul Sharma, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur.
The Lok Adalat aimed to promote settlement through conciliation and mediation, ensuring speedy justice and reducing case pendency.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa interacted with judicial officers and Bar members in the Court Complex Udhampur.
Seven benches were constituted across the district Udhampur, comprising judicial officers and panel lawyers. These benches worked diligently to resolve disputes amicably.
The Lok Adalat settled 661 cases out of 1278, with a total settlement amount of ₹ 16863470. Cases included Civil, Criminal, MACT, Revenue, Matrimonial, Family Disputes, And Cheque Bounce cases, providing relief to litigants. Similar National LokAdalats were also held at TLSC Ramnagar, Majalta, and Chenani, extending the reach of justice to various parts of the district.
