BARAMULLA, MAY 18: In view of the Lok Sabha Elections in 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency on 20th of May, a comprehensive voter awareness program was today held in Baramulla.

The initiative aimed to educate and engage the electorate, ensuring widespread awareness about the importance of voting and the electoral process.

The event commenced with a vibrant student rally, flagged-off from Khanpora Bridge by the ARO 10-Baramulla AC, Arshad Ahmad Khan. Hundreds of enthusiastic students participated, marching through various localities of the town; effectively spreading the message of voter awareness, drawing attention and fostering community engagement.

At the Azad Gunj Sports Ground, a massive plantation drive was organized, symbolizing the commitment to a green election, reinforcing the idea that a healthy democracy and a healthy environment go hand in hand.
Adding to the day’s activities, a Sanitation Vehicular Rally was flagged-off which toured different localities of the town, emphasizing the importance of exercising the right to vote, drawing a parallel between maintaining a clean environment and a clean democratic process.

Throughout the course of the SVEEP program, various engaging activities were held to inspire and educate the public about the democratic process.

An election-centric painting competition saw creative expressions from students, while an essay competition provided a platform for thoughtful reflections on the importance of voting. Additionally, different sports activities were conducted, which witnessed participation by a large number of students.

Officers present at the event expressed their commitment to enhance voter awareness and participation through these activities and urged all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote, thereby contributing to shaping the future of the nation.
