MD Jal Jeevan Mission asks PHE divisions for providing information on Rural Piped WSSs

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 13: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, today convened a review meeting with all districts of J&K through virtual mode.

The MD enquired about the details of Rural piped Water Supply Schemes where multiple schemes are providing water supply to common villages or habitations.

The Mission asked the divisions to provide information on these mother-child schemes so that single IDs are created for these schemes as directed by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, National Jal Jeevan Mission. He was assured that the requisite information in this regard will be provided soon.

The Mission Director also reviewed the division wise status of Har Ghar Jal reported and certified villages. He gave instructions regarding physically completed schemes which need to be reported in the first instance. He was informed that the gap between Functional House Hold Tap connection (FHTC) completed villages and Har Gar Jal reported villages will be bridged.

The MD directed the districts to certify the Har Ghar Jal Reported villages by holding special Gram Sabha’s from 15th August to 2nd October 2025, on the directions of Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The MD also reviewed the creation of IDs for Panchayat Secretaries for district online Dashboards under JJM.
The Mission Director directed the divisions to expedite the process of on boarding of Panchayat Secretaries on District Water & Sanitation (DWSM) Dashboard being hosted by the Deputy Commissioners in their respective districts.

The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineers (Hydraulic), Executive Engineers of all Divisions, Technical Officers with Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu/Kashmir and officers of Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission, J&K.
