KATHUA, OCTOBER 05: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, where the Health Department organised a medical camp for the students to promote preventive healthcare and health awareness among the younger generation.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the facilities and healthcare services being provided to the students and interacted with them, enquiring about their health, studies and overall well-being. He also appreciated the Health Department for organising the camp and emphasised the importance of regular health screening and timely medical care.
“Good health is the foundation of academic excellence and a fulfilling life,” the DC noted and encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyle practices, maintain personal hygiene, follow a balanced diet and remain physically active. He further stressed that awareness and preventive healthcare play a vital role in identifying health concerns at an early stage.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that similar medical camps are being organised for students across the district to strengthen preventive healthcare, facilitate timely health screening and generate greater awareness about healthy lifestyle practices.
The camp provided comprehensive health screening, including blood pressure and weight measurement, blood and haemoglobin tests, medical and dental check-ups, counselling and general health assessment of the students.
