Militancy case: NIA conducts searches at 14 locations in J&K, Punjab, Delhi

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at 14 different locations in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Delhi in a case related to militant activities.

A statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the case relates to militant activities of chiefs/members of militant organizations, such as Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa International, International Sikh Youth Federation etc.

“Such activities include smuggling of militant hardware, such as arms, ammunition explosive, IEDs etc. across international borders, for use by operatives/members of militant outfits and organized criminal gangs operating in various parts of the country for carrying out militant acts like bomb explosions, targeted killings,” the statement said.

It said that this case was registered suo-moto by NIA on 20-08-2022 as RC 37/2022/NIA/DLI, adding that during the searches conducted today, incriminating materials, including digital devices and documents have been seized.

“Further investigations in the case are in progress,” the statement said—(KNO)
