Mirgund, August 31, 2023: The College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund, sponsored a lively three-day training program from August 29 to August 31 in 2023 in an effort to give students the tools they need to overcome the frightening challenges of stage fright. This game-changing program, which was run under the direction of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), aimed to provide participants with the abilities and self-assurance to speak successfully in various spheres of life.
The course director, the acclaimed Dr. M. R. Mir, presided over an opening ceremony on August 29 to officially launch the program. The event was well attended by enthusiastic attendees from a range of educational institutions, including the Govt. Degree College Pattan, Magam, Beerwah, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, and the host institution, the College of Temperate Sericulture. These participants helped create the conditions for a life-changing experience.
Participants participated in a variety of activities over the course of the three days in order to promote personal growth and combat a common issue of stage fright. Students have the opportunity to improve their communication skills and develop a sense of self-assurance through speeches, lively group debates, and simulated mock interviews. The program went beyond improving communication skills by tackling important social concerns including climate change, drug abuse, urbanization, and education within the framework of one’s home tongue.
A highlight of the program was the insightful lectures delivered by distinguished experts. Prof. M. F. Baqual, Dr. I. L. Khan, and Professor Syeda Afshana took the stage to impart their wisdom on effectively handling stage fright. Their guidance and techniques provided a toolkit for participants to not only master the art of public speaking but also navigate the psychological barriers that inhibit effective communication.
As a recognition of their efforts and progress, awards and certificates were presented to outstanding participants. The atmosphere was charged with appreciation as students expressed their gratitude to the organizers, underscoring the value of such immersive training experiences. Their enthusiastic responses reflected a collective hope for the continuation of such events in the future, testifying to the program’s impact.
The closing ceremony was on August 31st. Prof. M. F. Baqual, in his closing remarks, extended heartfelt appreciation to Prof. N. A. Ganaie, the esteemed Vice Chancellor, for his unwavering support of programs that foster holistic student development. Prof. Baqual also expressed gratitude to the dedicated faculty members of participating institutions, whose guidance and participation elevated the program.
