GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 16: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Khurshid Ahmad Shah, today took an extensive tour of district Ganderbal to inspect various Water Supply Schemes (WSS) and review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.

The Mission Director was accompanied by Executive Engineer, Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal and Sub- Divisional officials.

The Mission Director, conducted an inspection of various JJM schemes executed under PHE Sub Division Kangan of Ganderbal Division.

During the visit, the Mission Director reviewed the progress of works, functioning of water supply schemes, and the quality of infrastructure created under the programme.

It was observed that substantial progress has been achieved in providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) in the area. The Mission Director emphasized maintaining quality standards, timely completion of ongoing works, and ensuring sustainability of the water supply sources.

Directions were given to field staff to ensure proper maintenance of service reservoirs, treatment units, and distribution networks. This initiative aligns with JJM’s broader objectives of ensuring safe and adequate drinking water access to every household in rural Jammu and Kashmir through sustainable water supply infrastructure.

The Mission Director directed the officers to speed up the pace of execution in view of the good weather conditions and complete the works before the onset of winter.

The Mission Director enjoined upon officers to give a renewed push to enhance pace of providing remaining Functional House Hold Tap Connections.
