KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 29: Mission Director POSHAN J&K Sajad Hussain Ganai today visited District Kishtwar. He reviewed the implementation and progress of POSHAN initiatives, inspected Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), Creche AWCs and interacted with Sanginis and Sahayikas.
The District Programme Officer, ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma apprised the MD of the current status of the implementation of the schemes in the district and the overall functioning of the Department.
The MD POSHAN J&K was accompanied by the Accounts Officer, POSHAN J&K, Masood Ahmad Mattoo.
The Mission Director also inspected Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and Creche AWCs and interacted with beneficiaries to assess the ground-level delivery of services.
On the occasion, various stalls were also set up by the Anganwadi Workers to display low-cost nutritious recipes and Teaching Learning Material (TLM). The Mission Director appreciated the efforts of the AWWs and lauded their creativity and dedication.
Later, the Mission Director chaired a meeting with the CDPOs and other concerned officers to assess the progress of the interventions under Mission POSHAN in the district.
The Mission Director directed the concerned officers to ensure timely generation of APAAR IDs, Aadhaar IDs and ABHA IDs for all eligible beneficiaries. He also instructed them to expedite the repair, renovation and upgradation of Anganwadi Centres to improve overall condition, infrastructure and functionality.
Emphasizing the need for wider coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), the Mission Director directed the officers to conduct a dedicated PMMVY Registration Drive to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are identified and enrolled under the scheme.
He further stressed the importance of strengthening coordination with the Department of Health for the effective conduct of Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSNDs) and Anaemia Camps at Anganwadi Centres.
The Mission Director also issued directions for strengthening infrastructure and improving service delivery across all AWCs, with particular emphasis on Bal Vidyalayas. He directed the concerned officers to ensure Face Recognition and e-KYC of all eligible beneficiaries in a timely manner.
Reviewing the distribution of Take-Home Ration (THR), the Mission Director called for improved monitoring through the Face Recognition System (FRS) to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely delivery to beneficiaries.
During his field visit to various Anganwadi and Creche AWCs, the Mission Director assessed the availability of facilities and the delivery of services at the grassroots level. He also interacted with Sanginis and Sahayikas, seeking feedback on their field-level experiences and the implementation of POSHAN services.
The Mission Director emphasized the need for effective implementation, close inter-departmental coordination, and continuous monitoring to strengthen service delivery and ensure that the intended benefits of Mission POSHAN reach all eligible beneficiaries in a timely and efficient manner.
The meeting was attended by CDPO Kishtwar, Rahida Lone, Supervisors, AWWs, AWHs and other staff of the ICDS Department, Kishtwar.
