Srinagar, Mar 14 : Under the Mission Vatsalya Programme the Jammu and Kashmir Government provided Rs 4000 per month to 5,000 vulnerable children living with extended families or biological relatives, reveals a document accessed by the news agency.

It states that the financial assistance was provided to these children to support their education, nutrition, and health needs.

As part of the initiative, the 20 Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) and 20 Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) in J&K have been upgraded to child-friendly spaces, keeping in mind child psychology principles, it reads, as per KNO.

The document further revealed that during the fiscal year 2024-25, the J&K government reached out to 7,90,235 children through various welfare initiatives aimed at child protection and well-being
