Mission Vatsalya Kupwara conducts Anti-Child Labour Drive at Bumhama, Salkoot Kupwara

KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 16: Mission Vatsalya Kupwara today conducted Anti- Child Labour drive for identification of Children in Street Situation (CISS), child begging and child labour at Bumhama and Salkoot Kupwara.

This initiative is part of a Pan-India campaign focused on identifying and supporting Children in Street Situation and rescuing children engaged in labour across the District in different establishments, hazardous areas.

The drive was attended by officials from Child Welfare Committee Kupwara, District Child Protection Unit, Juvenile Justice board, Child helpline, Juvenile Police Unit Kupwara.

During the drive, 03 Children were identified involved in child labour and were later rescued/ restored to their parents/guardians after registering the cases against employers before Child Welfare Committee under relevant provisions of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.

Further awareness about Child rights, JJ Act 2015 were given to owners of the automobile shops not to engage any Child below the age of 18 years in order to safeguard the rights and welfare of children in the district.
