KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 17: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today laid the foundation stone for the development of a playfield at Mohidal Panchayat, Mohipora here in the presence of local residents and officials.
The playfield is being developed by the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kulgam at an estimated cost of ₹63 lakh and the project is being executed by the PWD (R&B) Division Kulgam.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulgam underscored the importance of providing adequate sports facilities to young people and said that development of playfields at the grassroots level would provide local youth with better opportunities to participate in sports and physical activities.
He stressed the need for quality and timely execution of the project so that the facility can be made available to the local youth at the earliest.
The development of the playfield is expected to provide a dedicated sporting space for the youth of Mohidal Panchayat and adjoining areas, encouraging greater participation in sports and contributing to the promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle.
During the visit, MLA Kulgam interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances, developmental concerns and demands. People from Mohipora and adjoining villages projected various issues related to development and sought timely intervention for their resolution.
Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle Kulgam, Er. Fayaz Ahmad Kar, and officers of the concerned departments were present on the occasion.
