BANDIPORA, APRIL 23: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, on Thursday laid the foundation stones for several important developmental works in Ajas area of Bandipora district.
The projects include construction of a motorable bridge over Baji Khul at an estimated cost of Rs 48.89 lakh, construction of Tehsil Office Ajas at Rs 70.16 lakh, and construction of Niabat Office Ajas at Rs 15 lakh.
The proposed motorable bridge is aimed at improving connectivity to presently unconnected areas, thereby benefitting a large population. The construction of dedicated buildings for Tehsil and Niabat offices will address the existing constraint of functioning from rented accommodations and is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA reiterated his commitment towards strengthening infrastructure and ensuring better governance at the grassroots level.
The MLA was accompanied by Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal, Tehsildar Ajas and Assistant Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal.
