SURANKOTE, JULY 29: Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner and Transport Commissioner Jammu and Kashmir, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Poonch carried out an intensive enforcement drive in the Surankote area of the District.
During the operation, the enforcement team challaned 25 vehicles for various violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. A total fine of ₹38,500 was collected from offenders on the spot. The drive aimed to ensure road safety, compliance with traffic norms, and promote responsible driving among vehicle operators.
In addition to routine checks, the MVD team also addressed and resolved a fare-related complaint reported from the Kallar Kattal area of Tehsil Surankote, ensuring passenger rights were upheld.
Officials stated that such drives will continue in the coming days to curb traffic violations and improve transport discipline across the district.
