GANDERBAL, JUNE 17: Social Welfare department in collaboration with district administration Ganderbal today organized an awareness program on drug de-addiction and prevention under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Engineering College of Technology Safapora Ganderbal.
The event, aimed to educate the youth and general public about the dangers of drug addiction and promote a drug-free society, witnessed enthusiastic participation from professors, students and other staff members of the college.
Dr. Mansoor, from the Health Department, delivered a detailed presentation on the causes and consequences of drug addiction. He explained the physical, mental, and social repercussions of drug abuse and urged the students to adopt preventive practices.
Resource Person from School Education department emphasized the crucial role of schools in spreading awareness and educating students. He shared various initiatives taken at the school level to counsel and guide students away from harmful substances.
Similarly, officials from the Social Welfare department highlighted the department’s role in combating drug abuse through rehabilitation programs, counseling services, awareness campaigns, and community outreach. They also stressed the importance of inter-departmental collaboration in addressing this growing concern.
The event served as a powerful platform to promote awareness, responsibility, and coordinated action against drug abuse in the district.
