BHADERWAH, MARCH 28: In a significant move to safeguard environmentally sensitive areas, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal has intensified the enforcement of National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines across Bhaderwah subdivision.

At a high-level review meeting held today, the ADC emphasized strict implementation of environmental norms to ensure sustainable waste management and ecological protection. Key directions issued included daily monitoring of waste collection systems and the mandatory sharing of geo-tagged photographs on a daily basis to ensure transparency and accountability.

The ADC further directed the concerned departments to achieve 100% door-to-door waste collection in rural areas. Special focus was laid on improving sanitation in marketplaces, with instructions to deploy separate vehicles for the collection of waste from fruit and vegetable markets as well as chicken shops. Additionally, chain-link fencing was proposed in vulnerable areas to prevent garbage dumping to protect the environment.

Officials from the Municipality Committee, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), Public Works Department (R&B), Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC), Jal Shakti Department, Health Department, Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC) Doda, Mechanical Department, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) Doda along with representatives of various departments were present in the meeting.
