Nitesh’s Exit To Entry

R.C.P. Singh was all set to play the role of Eknath Shinde in Bihar because the state of Bihar, with nearly 40 Lok Sabha seats, is quite important for the calculations related to the general elections in 2024

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has had a history of decimating its alliance partners across the country—be it the case of Shiv Sena which stands split or the Shiromani Akali Dal which worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the BJP in Punjab but was not taken into confidence before the passing of farm laws and today they are nowhere to be seen, or for that matter, PDP which lost the ground since the day BJP took an exit from the coalition Government in the then state of J&K; same is the case with the AIADMK which stands split even as Chandra Babu Naidu of Telugu Desam Party has admitted that it was a mistake to ally with the BJP. All are paying!

Somewhat similar was perhaps on cards in Bihar where R.C.P. Singh, who was a minister and the leader of JDU, left the party and joined the BJP. The same was taken as a sign by Nitesh Kumar that the BJP was intending to do in Bihar what it did in Maharashtra: a major split in the JDU which could have cost Nitish everything, including power. Nitesh turned out to be a sharp politician who knew what was coming and in preparation for that, there was an understanding already being worked out with Tejaswi Yadav.

It has now been cleared that there were attempts made to split the JDU which has been even accepted by Nitish who reiterated the same during a press conference while the entire game suggests that the R.C.P. Singh was all set to play the role of Eknath Shinde in Bihar because the state of Bihar, with nearly 40 Lok Sabha seats, is quite important for the calculations related to the general elections in 2024. The events that unfolded made it evident what line of politics the BJP is taking and what happened in Maharashtra could have easily been repeated in Bihar.

What Nitesh reversed in Bihar is all set to turn into a possible endgame for absolute domination which the BJP is intending while at the same time, the Bihar political ruckus needs to be seen through the prism looking at the political landscaping in the country. The move has indeed dented the BJP’s ambition of reaching the Special Majority, which if achieved, the Government gets the power of amending the constitution and that’s what the BJP has been aiming for long. Nitesh has basically ended up doing more than just keeping power to himself and in achieving that, Tejaswi also played an important role, because, despite the defeat, he stood his ground and made sure that he was heard and acted as a vibrant political opponent waiting for an opportunity to come up, and which did at the cost of BJP losing it all in a state which is gamechanger for them.
