 NMBA: IEC campaign conducted across multiple panchayats in Waterhail Budgam

BUDGAM, JUNE 20: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), a series of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities were conducted today across several panchayats of Block Waterhail in district Budgam.

The campaign aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and mobilizing community support for a drug-free society.

IEC programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals, youth, PRI members, and school representatives.
Awareness sessions were held at Panchayat Ghar Harduwail covering Harduwail, Akerwail, and Arina, GMS Hukhlatri covering Hukhlatri, Ramhama, and Kulhama, Panchayat Ghar Jawalapora covering Jawalapora, Gojra, and Udroo,Panchayat Ghar Paharthan covering Paharthan, GM Dar, Danas, Doolipora, and Lassipora, Panchayat Ghar Parisabad covering Parisabad and Abadpora, Panchayat Ghar Waterhail covering Waterhail and Brail.

During the sessions, resource persons and officials emphasized the importance of community involvement in curbing drug abuse. Participants were sensitized about preventive measures, available rehabilitation services, and the role of family and educational institutions in identifying early signs of substance abuse.

The campaign also included distribution of awareness material, interactive discussions, and motivational talks aimed at encouraging youth to lead a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

District administration Budgam, through this sustained IEC initiative, is committed to combat drug abuse and foster a safer, healthier environment across all blocks of the district.
