One Day workshop on ‘Peace and Value Education’ held at Bandipora

Bandipora, August 29: The District Administration Bandipora in collaboration with Ali Sports Academy Tuesday conducted a day long workshop on ‘Peace and Value Education’ at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.

The workshop presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Umar Shafi, was organised to sensitize people about fundamental role of peace in our lives and the importance of instilling this core value within ourselves, our families, children, colleagues, and friends.

The programme was attended by Padmashree Awardee Faisal Ali, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad. Renowned research expert and Principal of Govt. College of Education (IASE) Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, and Coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation (IASE) Fazl Illahi, Coordinator were present as guest speakers on the occasion.

During the workshop, Prof Seema Naz threw light on the topic and said that the peace is the foundation of every human being and any deviation from this core value can lead to disillusionment, discontentment, disengagement, discord, and disparagement. She said that such deviations can pave the way for individual and social discord, potentially culminating in unresolvable conflicts.

During the day long programme, the teachers and students were sensitized and trained to workshop focuses on sensitizing and trained to become advocates of peace-making and peace-building.

The workshop was attended by hundreds of teachers and students from higher and school education, paving the way for a peaceful and dignified life for all.
