Over 25 lakh patients visit GMC Srinagar’s associated hospitals in 2023-24

Srinagar, Apr 20 : Government Medical College Srinagar’s seven associated hospitals witnessed approximately 25 lakh patients during the year 2023-24.

According to details obtained by news agency, in this period, over two lakh patients were admitted, with more than 70 thousand surgeries conducted across the hospitals.

The breakdown of patient visits and surgeries across the associated hospitals is as follows:

SMHS Hospital: With a bed capacity of 890, the hospital saw 1,063,028 patients in the OPD, admitted 107,589 in the IPD, and performed 23,269 surgeries, including 10,726 major surgeries and 12,543 minor surgeries.

Lal Ded Hospital: With a bed capacity of 710, the hospital treated 208,192 patients in the OPD, admitted 36,721 in the IPD, and conducted 20,891 surgeries, comprising 17,352 major surgeries and 3,540 minor surgeries.

B&J Hospital: With a bed capacity of 150, the hospital attended to 254,691 patients in the OPD, admitted 14,416 in the IPD, and conducted 14,861 surgeries, including 5,192 major surgeries and 9,672 minor surgeries.

Chest Disease Hospital: With a bed capacity of 200, the hospital saw 152,186 patients in the OPD, admitted 7,480 in the IPD, and conducted 2,707 surgeries, comprising 980 major surgeries and 1,809 minor surgeries.

Super Specialty Hospital: With a bed capacity of 220, the hospital treated 177,119 patients in the OPD, admitted 31,531 in the IPD, and performed 8,540 surgeries, including 4,482 major surgeries and 4,052 minor surgeries.

Children’s Hospital: With a bed capacity of 700, the hospital saw 457,552 patients in the OPD and treated 28,723 in the IPD.

Psychiatry Disease Hospital: With a bed capacity of 100, the hospital attended to 169,514 patients in the OPD and admitted 1,779 in the IPD during the year 2023-24.
