Anantnag:A primary School in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district is facing shortage of which is creating hardships for the students, locals have alleged.

Locals from Frislana Pahalgam said that a primary school in the area is facing staff shortage due to which students belonging to financially week families are suffering.

They said that just two teachers have been deputed at Govt Primary School Banpora Frislana to teach students of six classes.

They said that people in the area are financially weak and can’t afford to send their kids to private schools.

“Frislana is around two kilometre from famous tourist spot Pahalgam and people in the area are financially very weak so they don’t have any other option than to send their wards to government school,” said Mukhtar Ahmad, a local resident.

He said that all students enrolled at the school belong to poor families and they want to study and excel at every platform but in absence of adequate teaching staff, they are suffering.

“Over 50 students are enrolled in the school but there are just two teachers who also face problems in handling students of six classes,” he said.

Locals said that they have brought their issue in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail.

They have once again requested concerned authorities to look into the matter and depute more teachers to the school so that poor students won’t suffer anymore.
