Srinagar: Apni Party president Syed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said Peoples Conference deceived the people in the name of restoration of Article 370 during the district development council (DDC) polls.

Addressing a function here, according to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bukhari said that district Kupwara is also under a family rule. “We don’t want to deceive people. When we started our journey, our children and elders told us that people will abuse our seven generations because when a common man takes initiative here, he is either dubbed as an Indian or Pakistani agent,” he said.

He said a few big political families ruled Kashmir for 75 years and district Kupwara is also responsible for promoting family rule.

“You also have a family rule in Kupwara. You have not come out of family rule. You have to introspect where that family has taken you,” he said. Kupwara is considered a stronghold of PC.

Bukhari said that the PC fought DDC polls in the name of restoration of Article 370.

“They won elections in the name of restoration of Article 370. They were not hopeful of winning the seats by speaking truth,” he said, adding that they resorted to lies to win the seats.

He said these families were in competition with each other during last year’s all-party meeting to prove who is the bigger Indian.

He further said that there is no doubt in the fact that the Sheikh family, Mufti family and Lone family are Indians—(KNO)
